Soma Balance Studio Policies


Thank you for taking the time to review the following policies. You must sign and agree to these policies prior to your first session. 

  1. If you are sick or contagious at the time of your appointment, please reschedule free of charge. 

  2. Clients are expected to come to their session clean and as free as possible of heavy odors including but not limited to: perfume, cologne, body odor, cigarette smoke, and other neurotoxins.  

  3. Please silence your phone prior to the start of your session.

  4. Clients may not be intoxicated. 

    • Clients who are intoxicated will be asked to leave and charged the standard cancellation fee. 

  5. This is a professional massage therapy session which is non sexual

    • If the client demonstrates any kind of inappropriate behavior that is sexual, sexually suggestive, violent, or with the intent to intimidate, this will be considered harassment and the session will be terminated. 

    • Payment will be due in full 

    • The perpetrator will not be permitted to reschedule. 

  6. All personal information will be kept confidential according to HIPAA standards. 

  7. Any advice given to you by your massage therapist is to be considered advice, not a medical diagnosis. 

  8. If, during the massage, a symptom is discovered for which massage is not advised, you will be referred to a doctor. 

  9. Please communicate during your massage if you need adjustments to 

    • Room temperature

    • Music selection or volume 

    • Area being addressed 

    • Depth or pace of the massage 

    • If you would like to talk or be silent

    • The goal is for you to be comfortable, so please feel free to speak up. 

  10. Many reactions can arise out of receiving deeper bodywork. Your therapist will do their best to educate you, so you know what to expect during and after the massage. 

  11. Your privacy will be honored at all times. 

    • You will have the room to yourself to undress and dress before and after the massage. 

    • During your massage you will be covered with a drape. Only the area being addressed will be uncovered. 

    • Clothing under the drape is optional and at your discretion 

    • You will discuss the flow of the massage and may ask questions about draping and your preferences before your first session and any session after.

    • Please be respectful to the therapist and remain under the drape at all times during the massage. 

  12. Clients may wear a mask, and may request that the therapist wears a mask as well. 

  13. Minors may only be scheduled by their legal guardian. A legal guardian is required to be onsite during the minor’s massage session. 

  14. If you are late, your session will be cut short so that the massage therapist may remain on schedule, and the full session rate will be charged. 

  15. Appointments cancelled 24 hours or more before the scheduled time will not be charged. 

  16. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged 50% of the rate of a 60 minute session.
